Don't miss the Smooth Jazz Series at City Center Bishop Ranch! The series will take place on Saturday evenings, July 12, 19, and 26 at 7pm. Here is the lineup of artists:
The concerts are FREE and open to the public.
For a premium experience, you can enjoy reserved seating in front of the stage by booking a prix fixe meal before the show at one of our participating restaurants: LB Steak, The Slanted Door, or Alora Social.
Alternatively, enjoy patio seating at a City Center restaurant during the show (note that visibility may be limited), or grab dinner to go and enjoy it on the lawn in Alexander Square.
Beer, wine, and cocktails will also be available for purchase. Blankets are allowed on the lawn; however, personal lawn chairs are not permitted in the Square. Visit our FAQs section at the bottom of the page for more details.
Meet the Artists

Jonathan Butler, a native of South Africa, is a guitarist and singer-songwriter who started singing and playing acoustic guitar as a child and began touring at the age of seven. His long and successful career has included recordings from R&B to jazz fusion to gospel, a Grammy nomination and billboard hits.

Brian Simpson
After graduating from Northern Illinois University, keyboardist and composer Brian Simpson moved to Los Angeles, where he quickly began performing with Gerald Albright, Norman Brown, and eventually toured with Janet Jackson. In 1990, he began a decade-long collaboration with jazz great George Duke, leading to work with artists like James Ingram, Anita Baker, Dave Koz, and Wayman Tisdale.
A veteran music director and internationally acclaimed performer, Simpson has toured the globe, with recent appearances in Japan, Australia, South Africa, and across Europe. He is a Shanachie Entertainment recording artist, most recently releasing his eleventh album, Soul Connection (2023).
Jackiem Joyner
Contemporary saxophonist, author, and producer Jackiem Joyner has built a remarkable career spanning nearly two decades. Known for chart-topping jazz albums, bestselling books, and dynamic live performances, he continues to push creative boundaries.
Born in Norfolk, VA, Joyner overcame humble beginnings to release his 2007 debut Babysoul, launching a prolific recording career highlighted by Grammy runner-up projects and global acclaim. He has toured over 30 countries and performed with legends including George Duke, Marcus Miller, Keiko Matsui, and Kirk Whalum. With a passion for storytelling and live performance, Joyner remains committed to his craft: “I’ll never stop doing what I love.”

LB Steak
LB Steak presents a four-course prix fixe menu during each Jazz Series evening. Highlights include Surf & Turf with petit filet mignon and Hokkaido scallops, along with a house made affogato. A new, unique menu will be featured each Saturday evening.
The Slanted Door
The Slanted Door will offer a three-course menu on the patio. A limited number of 5:00 PM reservations include VIP seating in front of the stage. 6:45 PM reservations will be seated on the patio behind the stage. Contact them to confirm VIP availability.

Alora Social
Alora Social invites guests to enjoy a three-course Mediterranean-inspired prix fixe menu. Each prix fixe reservation includes reserved seating in front of the stage, with limited availability. Menu details will be available soon so check back here for more details.
